See our new GFP Shipping Process video for an overview of the MIL-Comply process that allows for GFP UID shipping without accessing neither the WAWF nor the UID Registry website in PIEE.
Shipments of UID items that are Government-Furnished Property (GFP) present a unique set of challenges to contractors, primarily the need to use the WAWF RRR transaction. The Reparable Receiving Report (RRR) itself is the easy part, being the same as the standard Receiving Report used for new acquisition, with a few additional pieces of data. The real challenge is that contractors must acknowledge custody of GFP items in the UID Registry prior to their shipment on a WAWF RRR.
Before you can ship on a WAWF RRR, custody of GFP UID items must be acknowledged in the IUID Registry. GFP items not found must be added to the IUID Registry by the servicing contractor. There is also a requirement to add some data that may not have been required when the item was first sold.
