POPS-EDI:  Shippers / Electronic Invoicing / RFID

EDiForm processes electronic (EDI-850) purchase orders generated by the Defense Supply Centers into DD250s which can be submitted to Wide Area Workflow for payment. Paper DD250s can be created with or without DVD-barcoding that is required by some contracts.  Commercial shippers and invoices are also supported.  EDiForm works with Std-Barc to automated Mil-Std-129 barcode label generation.  See how easy POP-EDI can be by taking a quick look at a Flash Demo.

DVD Order Manager:  Direct Vendor Delivery / Performance Based Logistics

Selected by Raytheon for its record setting $58 million AN/ALR-67(V)3 performance-based logistics (PBL) contract, Mil-Pac's DVD Order Manager (DVDOM) handles EDI requests from front-line NAVAIR units for replacement of essential electronic warfare components. In this instance, DVDOM interfaces with Raytheon's manufacturing (MOR) system to manage EDI material release orders (EDI 940), provide timely responses (EDI 945) to fleet and generate necessary shipping documents. DVDOM features a user-friendly EDI interface (see our PowerPoint demo) and web-based status reports.

Wide-Area Workflow (WAWF):  Built-in DD250 Performance

Mil-Pac products support DD250 translation for Wide-Area Workflow (WAWF), allowing users to bypass manual re-entry of shipping data into WAWF. Mil-Pac offers the only COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) system compatible with the WAWF initiative, and is currently in use processing thousands of DD250s each month. WAWF file generation is already integrated into all DD-Form products (DD-Master, FormStation, EDiFormand eShipMan).

Value-Added Network Services

Mil-Pac Network Services provides low-cost value-added network (VAN) services specifically tailored to the needs of defense contractors. Built in VAN interfaces make Mil-Pac's EDI-enabled software easy to operate, and EDI-capable right out of the box.

XML Development

Mil-Pac is leading an industry group in the development of XML standards for electronic transmission of DD250s and other related defense logistics documents. While not currently a replacement for traditional EDI, XML shows considerable promise in the area of forms processing and workflow, enabling a wide variety of software systems to communicate effectively.

Take a look at the current XML Standard Draft for DD250s and an example of an XML DD250 document. These examples can be viewed with XML-enabled browsers, such as Internet Explorer 5.0. An XML-capable version of the DD-FormStation is currently in beta test.
